Soo
Jeong Lee,
Secretary
I am honored to
serve as Secretary of this wonderful group. Even though I am still
adjusting myself to this country, still there are many things I need
help from the others. I will do my best to do my part.
I started skiing relatively late in life, but pretty
quickly it became my passion. It was February 1996 when I put on
skis on my feet for the first time. I could manage to ski down the
bunny slope with only one or two falls by lunch time. In 2003, I
spent my vacation in Los Angeles, met my husband, volunteered at the
Veterans Hospital, went to Ski Dazzle AND stopped at The Unrecables
booth. I talked a lot with Karen Finfer. I carpooled with her
on the March trip in 2004. It was an eye-opening & mind expanding
experience. At the end of 2004, I moved from Seoul, Korea to Los
Angeles, then rejoined winter trips since the 2005-06 season.
Ever since, I joined most winter trips as a
volunteer, then as an instructor candidate, and as a PSIA certified
instructor. I was certified level 1 mono-ski and level 1 bi-ski in
March 2008. It is my fortune to have met so many amazing people t h
rough The Unrecables. I may teach how to ski to others, but I always
learn more from all the students and the other members.
Before I moved to the USA, I worked at a hospital as
a pharmacist for 10 years. Most of the time, I worked as a Drug
Information Director training other professionals and educating
patients. Currently, I am working on my verbal English skills to
pursue the profession.
Skiing is of course my favorite activity. I also
love outdoor activities such as cycling and inline skating on the
beach. I am not athletic, but I have loved playing outside ever
since I was a kid. This year's my goal is learning how to swim (yes,
I live by the ocean and I cannot swim yet). Then, I will be able to
spend more time in/on the water. |
