This native Southern Californian is currently the Equipment Manager
for The Unrecables. She has been a life member of The Unrecables
since 1992 after being introduced to the adaptive skiing community
and this club by Randi Woodrow. Since then she has volunteered as an
adaptive ski instructor for the Disabled Veterans National Winter
Sports Clinic and most recently the New England Winter Sports
clinic.
Hannah was first
introduced to the disabled community by working at Camp Paivika
operated by the Crippled Children’s Society now called Ability
First. She worked there as a counselor and Unit Director. After
returning from three years in the US Army, she worked as the camp
director for a few years. Several Paivikans from the past are now
Unrecables.
Hannah has been a
federal employee for over 30 years with 27 years at the West Los
Angeles VA Medical Center. Her career began as a Rehabilitation
Counselor and then into management positions within the Physical
Medicine Rehabilitation Department and for the past two years as the
Administrative Officer/ Health Systems Specialist with the Imaging
and Nuclear Medicine Service.
Hannah has enjoyed all
the friends she has made through this organization and is an
advocate for members both disabled and non for taking control of
one’s destiny by becoming as independent as possible regardless of
the challenges life hands you. Hannah thanks The Unrecables for
allowing her to share her time and skills with all its members. |
